Lunar New Year Camp 2026
Rooted in culture and storytelling, this camp explores the rich traditions of Lunar New Year. Students will learn the stories of the zodiac animals, take part in festive customs, and discover the science behind the lunar calendar. Blending history, astronomy, and creativity, this camp connects timeless traditions with hands-on exploration.

Lunar New Year Camp 2025
Feb 11:
Lunar New Year – Traditional Lanterns
Students design illuminated lanterns combining traditional patterns with circuits, and practice calligraphy brush strokes to create beautiful Spring Couplets on red paper.
Feb 12:
Chinese Zodiac Animals
Students create a Zodiac clock using Chinese characters, learning about time, symbols, and cultural systems through hands-on construction. They also sculpt the zodiac animal of the year using clay and design personal seals inspired by animal motifs.
Feb 13:
Lunar New Year Food
Students make nian gao (rice cake) while observing how ingredients change with heat. They also learn traditional dumpling folding and explore the meaning behind festive foods.
Feb 16:
Lunar New Year Reunion, Tradition and Culture
Students discover the cultural symbolism of New Year flowers while exploring their plant structure and growth. They also craft red packets with gold stamping and calligraphy, practicing respectful giving etiquette.
Feb 20:
Lion and Dragon
Dance Parade
Students bring a dragon puppet to life through teamwork, rhythm, and celebration, exploring creative traditions in a joyful parade experience.
